symbiOASIS

BY SERENA ZHANG
This thesis investigates the area of the Chemainus River estuary in B.C. as the space of shared interactions. It tries to imagine how human-made structures could contribute to re-initiating and transforming living habitats in diminishing estuarine ecosystems caused by the rise of sea level. The project looks into ways to provide alternative habitats for all species, living symbiotically in the age of compromise, via artificially augmented nature that supports blue carbon sinks efforts.
